History and Aspiration

MY-UK is a business and social club in London, which is set up to connect Malaysians from all walks of life residing in the United Kingdom. Founded by three friends (Eric Tan, Isabelle Yan & Kim O'Neill) in 2014 and with the support of His Excellency Dato' Ahmad Rasidi Hazizi, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Court of St. James.

MY-UK aims to foster the ethos of "One Malaysia" by providing a platform to bring the Malaysian Community together.
 

The aims and objectives of My-UK are as follows:
 

• To create awareness and promote business, commercial, industrial and education expertise of its Members.
 

• To provide a platform for social and professional networking, assistance and advice to its Members.
 

• To affiliate, co-ordinate and connect the representation of not just My-UK but other Malaysian associations in London, with British and other international societies. This will further enhanced the interests of My-UK Members.
 

• To organise a regular social and cultural events as well as sporting activities.
 

• To create an online forum MY-UK corporate and professionals could exchange ideas and provide assistance to its international Malaysian Members. With such opportunities in mind, MY-UK hopes to expand and build up a large portfolio of Malaysian expertise for the benefit of its Members. For example : new business set-ups, travel agents, holiday companies, fashion houses, property agents, student societies and charities in Malaysia could join MY-UK for a perfect referrals.
 

• To form a regional network. MY-UK has made initial contact to liaise with other Malaysian groups in Europe, thereby creating a network of professionals, students, retirees and corporate members.
 

In addition to the above, our long term plan is to form sister associations with MY-France, MY-German etc.
